During the Roadsoft User Group (RUG) meeting held on August 2nd, many items were discussed regarding the needs and features our customers would like to see for 2019 development of Roadsoft. We are gathering information on which of those items are priorities to our Roadsoft customers through this survey. Your participation in this survey will help guide our 2019 development planning.
The latest release for Roadsoft and LDC is available. This release updates Roadsoft and the Laptop Data Collector (LDC) to version 2018.7.
The Roadsoft update includes some enhancements and fixes for Document Attachments, Export to LDC/Mobile, Linear Mark Color and Style Length Summary Report, Map window docking, and Sign Module fixes.

The Center for Technology & Training (CTT) announces a call for participation in a focus group planned for 2018. As a part of the 2018 Roadsoft work plan, standardizing incongruent areas of Roadsoft is at the forefront of many conversations here at the CTT. One area in need of standardization is the work order process (including the work order fields, control, reports, general use cases, and application across all modules). Our internal discussions are generating many grand ideas for improvement; however, in our experience, the best ideas come from our customers.

This issue announces the release of Roadsoft 2018.3, which streamlines the Transportation Asset Management Council (TAMC) data collection process and provides a number of feature and interface enhancements. The issue also explains that Roadsoft 2018.3 will not include a framework migration due to the ongoing technology upgrades to the Michigan geographic framework by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, and the the Linear Referencing System by the Michigan Department of Transportation.

This Roadsoft release includes several bug fixes in pavement management, project builder, safety analysis, and a few other modules.
