This is a major version release for Roadsoft. Major releases for Roadsoft contain the newest framework (map), along with other features, enhancements, and fixes.
Both Roadsoft and the LDC need to be updated to the same version for this release. ALL computers running this update must be on v2024.1 or newer. Once updated, ALL computers will need to update to the current version to connect to the database.
ROADSOFT & LDC UPDATED:
The Roadsoft & LDC 2026.3 updates include numerous enhancements and fixes throughout the programs. A complete list of changes is available on the Downloads page.
Noteworthy new features for this release include:
- Project Builder: Added map when adding/editing a project to display the segments selected for the project. This is also where users can add/remove segments in the project.
- Added Priority Weighting to Road Module to help prioritize segments in the Project Planner based on weighting criteria.
- Added additional Dashboard summary options to Bridge, Culvert, Guardrail, Guardrail, Sidewalk, and Sign Modules.
PLEASE NOTE: This version will NOT install on Windows 10. Windows 11 or newer is required.
BEFORE YOU UPDATE
Before updating Roadsoft and the Laptop Data Collector (LDC) to this version, it is important to import any outstanding collection data from LDC and Mobile into Roadsoft.
PLEASE NOTE: This version of Roadsoft requires SQL Server 2016 or newer. If you are unsure what version you are connecting to, hit the Help->System Information menu in Roadsoft. Contact Tech Support for help migrating to a newer version of SQL.

Complete all active LDC and Mobile data collection and import into Roadsoft prior to updating.

IS IT SAFE TO UPDATE MID COLLECTION?
- IT IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED, before updating Roadsoft and the Laptop Data Collector (LDC) to this version, import any outstanding collection data from LDC and Mobile into Roadsoft.
UPDATE COMPATIBILITY:
- Computers running 2024.1 or newer can update directly to this release. The update is available at www.roadsoft.org/downloads
- All computers that connect to a shared Roadsoft database will need to be updated to this version in order to connect once the database is update.

NOTES:
Roadsoft is fully compatible with SQL Server 2016 and newer. Our 2025 SQL Server Express installer is available for use with Roadsoft for agencies interested in upgrading their existing SQL Express server. Download the new installer at roadsoft.org/downloads/sql-downloads
